The Official Bowman Pointe Application Checklist
10.18.2021 |
Is Bowman Pointe at the top of your list of apartment communities in Little Rock? That’s so exciting to hear!
Before you apply for one of our luxury apartments, there are a few things you need to consider first and then a short list of items you should check off your to-do list.
Whether you’re a first-time renter or a seasoned pro, this guide can help you get all your ducks in a row so your application is approved quickly.
Just let us know if you have any questions!
Add Your Information
Once you pick out the perfect apartment and open our online application, the first step to completing the paperwork is to add in all your personal information.
It’s crucial that you disclose these details correctly so we can process a background and credit check:
- Full Legal Name
- Email Address
- Phone Number
- Date of Birth
- Social Security Number (or another form of government-issued identification)
- Driver’s License Number
- Vehicle Make and Model
- Annual Income
If there is anything on this list you don’t know off the top of your head, go ahead and collect those documents first so you have them with you while you’re applying.
Pay Your Fees
After you fill out all that information, you will be required pay all the fees. Have your bank account number and routing number ready, as we do not accept credit cards for payment!
The following fees are due at the time of application:
- $50 application fee
- $150 administrative fee
- $150 security deposit
If you add a pet to your application, you will also have to pay at least a $350 fee, depending on the size of your pet.
Until you submit these payments, the apartment you chose will not be taken off the market and we will be unable to process your application further!
PS: For those of you employed by one of our Preferred Employers, your $50 application fee will be credited towards your first month’s rent.
Submit Your Income
Once you fill out the application and pay the fees, your application is in, and our leasing team will get to work on approving you!
If your application isn’t automatically denied due to income requirements, credit history, or criminal history, you will receive a follow-up “Next Steps” email from us requesting documents to verify your income.
To be approved, your income must meet or exceed 3.5 times the rent amount, which we can verify using any one of these three methods:
- Last year’s W2, plus three most recent pay stubs (if currently employed)
- Job offer letter on official company letterhead (if you just accepted a new job offer)
- Business license and most recent bank statement (if you run your own business)
It helps to have these verification documents already ready to submit when you apply.
That way, you can respond to our email immediately and add them as attachments or upload them to your account yourself. This can get you approved faster!
Adding a Co-Signer
If your income does not meet our requirement, we do allow you to add a co-signer (or guarantor) to your application.
To qualify as a co-signer, however, their income would need to meet or exceed five times the rent amount and we will require the same kind of verification documents.
Verify Your Rental History
In that same “Next Steps” email, we will also detail a list of previous addresses that appear on your background check and ask you to verify them.
Just respond back to the email letting us know what each address is tied to, i.e., if the address is a property you rented, owned, or worked at.
We must send a rental verification form to your current and previous landlords, so it would be helpful if you could also provide us with their contact information.
If we have trouble contacting your landlords, we may reach back out to you for help to complete this step!
Provide Your Pet Documents
Any pets that you plan to have living with you will need to follow our pet policy. Read that over if you haven’t already to make sure your pet qualifies, and remember you’re allowed a maximum of two!
To approve your pet and register them with our community, we will need to have a photo of your pet as well as a copy of their veterinary records showing they are up to date on all vaccinations.
Once you move in, we will charge a $25 pet rent per month per pet in addition to your apartment rent and any other add-on amenities.
If you have any dogs, we will also process a one-time $40 DNA fee per dog.
Next Steps
Completed the application checklist? Great job! You’re well on your way to getting approved.
Now, all you have to do is sit back, wait for a congratulatory email, and start prepping to move!
