Approved to Moved: 7 Things You Need to Do Before Your Move-In Day

|

Congratulations! Your application has been approved and your move-in date has been set. Are you ready to start enjoying luxury apartment living at Bowman Pointe?

First things first: before you move in, there are a few more things you need to check off your to-do list. Get these seven things done, and you should be all set!

#1: Buy a Wireless Router

Did you know Fidelity cable and internet are included in our convenient utility package? Service is already set up in your apartment!

If you do not have a wireless router, buy one now and have it ready to go on your move-in day.

To access the internet and start streaming something, you just need to plug your router into the modem installed in your apartment. It’s that easy!

#2: Create an Entergy Account

The only utility not included in your utility package here at Bowman Pointe is electricity. Here in Arkansas, that means you need to set up an account with Entergy.

Setting up a new electric account is easy to do on their website. Just make sure you schedule service to begin in your apartment home on your move-in date.

If you already have an Entergy account, you must notify Entergy to move your service from your current address to your new address on your move-in date.

Once you set up your account, write down your account number and prepare to give it to our leasing team on your move-in date.

#3: Get Renter’s Insurance

While renter’s insurance isn’t required here at Bowman Pointe, we highly recommend it. You should want to protect your belongings in case any unpredictable accidents might occur.

Most insurance companies will give you a great deal if you bundle your renter’s insurance with your car insurance.

So, go ahead and ask your insurer what kinds of options they offer!

#4: Hire Movers

Moving is one of the most stressful things you will ever do. Why don’t you relax and let the professionals handle it?

Now that your move-in date is set, you just need to pick a moving company, schedule your move, and start packing your stuff.

We recommend you compare some of the top-rated moving companies on sites like Angie’s List and Yelp. Pick a few, give them a call, ask them questions, and decide which one fits your needs best.

#5: Send in Your Pet’s Information

If you are bringing a pet (or two) with you, you must have included their information on your application in addition to yours. So, we already should know your pet’s breed, weight, name, etc.

But, before you move in, we need more information about your pet

Make sure you send our team a photo of your pet and a copy of your pet’s veterinary records. We need to know that they are up to date on all their vaccinations!

Lastly, prepare your pet to take a DNA test when you arrive. We will swab the inside of their mouth to create a DNA profile for our PooPrints program.

#6: Prepare Your Bank Information

Your move-in date is the first day you will owe any kind of rent payment. Unless you move in on the first day of the month, you will not pay a full month’s rent or utilities. The amount will always be prorated to your move-in date!

To save yourself $25 a month and avoid potential late fees, we always recommend our residents set up auto draft payments to pull directly from their bank account each month.

When you move in, be prepared to fill out an ACH form to set up your auto draft. You will need to know your bank name, account number, and routing number.

#5: Tell Everyone!

Now that you’re all set to move in, it’s time to tell the world!

We don’t want you to miss any important mail or deliveries, so make sure to update your address with the following entities and businesses:

  • Post Office
  • Employer
  • Cell Service Provider
