7 Tasks to Tackle the First Month in Your New Apartment

Your first month in a luxury apartment here at Bowman Pointe is going to be so exciting. From getting your keys to making yourself at home, you will have a lot to do while having some fun.

You probably have your own to-do list for the big move, but there are a few other important tasks you may not know you need to tackle, too.

Seven simple steps have been outlined for you below, so read them over and let us know if you have any questions. We can’t wait to welcome you! 

#1: Complete Your Move-In Condition Form

When you arrive to our front office on your move-in day, one of the first things we will tell you to do is download our resident app

That’s because once we move you into our management software, you officially become a resident of our luxury community. This software will then sync your information to our app, which will give you access to the platform within 24 hours.

The first crucial task you must tackle is completing the move-in condition form that will pop up the first time you open our app. You have 48 hours to inspect your apartment, let us know if there’s anything broken or damaged, and confirm the condition of your new home.

Obviously, if there is anything wrong in your apartment that we missed during our own inspection, we want to fix it for you ASAP! Plus, we need to have this form completed to issue you a mailbox key.

#2: Get Acclimated with Our App

Once you’ve completed your move-in condition form, you can start getting familiar with the rest of the app’s interface.

We use this platform for so many purposes, most important among them being communication. Every time we have an update or announcement to send you, your phone will receive a push notification letting you know there is a new message to read.

Plus, our app is also where you can submit service requests, reserve amenities, RSVP to events, get great deals, post to our community bulletin board, and so much more. It’s awesome!

#3: Use the Amazon Hub

Our resort-style apartment community features so many amazing amenities, most of which you can use for free. But if you love shopping online, we can predict that your favorite amenity is going to be our Amazon Hub.

This package locker system securely stores deliveries made by all the big mail carriers, including Amazon, DHL, FedEx, UPS, and USPS. 

As a new resident, you need to sign up for an Amazon Hub account using the information our office will email you. That way, once a package of yours gets scanned into this system, you will receive an email or text (your preference!) with a unique code to open the locker containing your package.

NOTE: If any item you purchase is temperature-sensitive or too large to fit in one of these lockers, it will have to be delivered to your door. So, please prepare accordingly as you order new furnishings for your new apartment!

#4: Stop by for Happy Hour 

The Bowman Pointe community is a very social one, making happy hour the weekly event you do not want to miss during your first month as a new resident. 

From 6:00 to 8:00 pm every Tuesday night, we serve up complimentary drinks you can enjoy while playing games and mingling with your neighbors.

It’s a great way to meet new people and get comfortable in our community, plus there’s always a food truck scheduled to be on site if you want to order dinner! 

#5: Explore Our Neighborhood

As you begin to experience everything that life at Bowman Pointe has to offer, we also encourage you to explore our neighborhood and immerse yourself in the culture of Little Rock.

Checking out West Little Rock is easy since there are so many things to do within a 15-minute drive of your new apartment here at Bowman Pointe.

But beyond that, you should also try new restaurants, bike or hike local trails, and do some quintessential Little Rock activities all over town. 

#6: Study Up on Safety

You’re familiar with our utility package, right? As a resident living in one of our energy-efficient apartments, the cost of your cable, internet, water, sewer, trash, pest control, and alarm system are totally covered for just $70, $80, or $90 a month!

Before you start using your alarm system, though, you need to register the alarm with the city and study up on the system’s settings. We will supply you with all the information you need on your move-in day, so read it over carefully.

In case of emergencies, you should also know where to locate other safety features inside your apartment. Here are the most important ones:

  • breaker box – behind the door in one of your bedrooms.
  • fire extinguisher – under your kitchen sink.
  • water shut-off valves – under your sinks, behind your toilets, and behind your washing machine.

PS: We offer 24-hour emergency maintenance services if you ever need them, or you can get handy and try to tackle a few easy-to-fix issues on your own

#7: Decorate Your Apartment

Getting the lay of the land, taking advantage of all our amenities, and exploring everything Little Rock has to offer will take up a bit of time during your first month here. But you won’t quite feel at home until you decorate your apartment and make it your own!

We have so many tips on this topic, ranging from reading apartment decorating blogs to getting inspired by new design trends in 2021. But you could also try furnishing your apartment in different ways or even repurposing your spare bedroom.
