How Applying for an Apartment Will Work in 2019

applying for an apartment at bowman pointe

2019 will be here before you know it, and there are a lot of exciting changes coming to Bowman Pointe. If you plan on applying for an apartment here, you need to be prepared. So, let’s get you up-to-speed with details on when Phase III will be open, how the pre-leasing process works, how much it costs to apply, and what you can expect during your move next year.

Pre-Leasing an Apartment

Phase III is currently under construction, with an expected opening date of Summer 2019. Hopefully, that means we will begin pre-leasing new apartments soon!

We often get asked if we have a waitlist for our apartments, and the answer is, “No.” We cannot reserve your preferred floor plan for you or prioritize your application over another potential applicant.

We also get asked if we can predict when a type of apartment will become available, and the answer to that is also, “No.”

For example, we have no one-bedrooms available right now. The only way a one-bedroom apartment will become available before Phase III opens next summer would be if a current resident decides to move out.

Current residents must give a 60-day notice if they intend to vacate an apartment, so we only know what is coming available two months ahead of time. If something opens up, you can pre-lease that apartment and move in after the resident moves out.

Pre-Leasing Announcements

Once we open a new building for pre-leasing in Phase III, we will make an announcement via email and social media. Otherwise, any occupied, but soon-to-be vacant, apartment will be posted on our website once a resident’s notice is given.

Then, applying for an apartment is first-come, first-serve, and everything is completed online. Keep checking our website if you’re on the lookout for something specific.

Of course, if you have any questions about an apartment you see available—like where it is located on the property, what floor it’s on, what it looks like, etc.—we will happily help you. Just give us a call at 501-725-9055 or send us a text at 501-289-5427.

From there, the application process works the same way it always has. That won’t be changing in 2019!

Application Fees

When applying for apartment, people often ask us various questions about our fees and deposits.

The standard fees are a $50 application fee and $100 administrative fee, plus a $150 deposit. That is a total upfront cost of $300.

You will be required to pay the $300 when you submit your application online. Whether you are approved or denied, the $50 application fee is non-refundable. Only those who qualify for our Preferred Employer Special can waive this fee.

If you are approved, you will pay your pro-rated apartment fees on your move-in day. This payment will include the costs of your rent, utility package, and any add-on amenities.

Utility Packages

One of the best things about living in an apartment at Bowman Pointe is how much money you save with our awesome utility packages. The cost of these packages may be going up in 2019, but the difference is only a few dollars.

For just $60, $80, or $90 a month (for a one-, two-, or three-bedroom apartment, respectively), we cover the cost of your cable, internet, water, sewer, trash, pest control, and alarm system!

All these utilities are included in one fee, which is added to your monthly payment along with your rent amount.

The only utility you pay separately is electricity, which is typically a lower bill than it would be at other apartment communities because our apartments are much more energy-efficient.

Your HD cable and internet package is provided by Fidelity Communications. If you would like to include DVR services, add special channels, or upgrade your internet speed, you can do so at minimal cost. As a resident of Bowman Pointe, you get special rates!

Add-On Amenities

With the apartments in Phase III will also come more garages and covered parking spaces. Both options are amenities you can add onto your rent amount.

Garages go for $150 or $175 a month, depending on which size you get. They come in limited quantities, so if you want one, apply as soon as one becomes available!

Covered parking spaces, however, are more abundant with options available near every apartment building. Each space is $45 a month and our staff can help you pick the best spot.

You can also add a washer and dryer for $40 a month, storage unit for $45 a month, wine locker for $25 a month, or gym locker for $25 a month.

After applying of an apartment and getting approved, you will be asked by a member of our leasing team if you would like to add on any of the amenities.

Pet Fees

Planning on bringing a pet? Our pet policy states the rules and guidelines for living with dogs, cats, fish, birds, hamsters, etc.

If you have a dog or cat, you must pay an additional $300 non-refundable fee and $40 one-time pet DNA fee if you are approved. Then, you will have a $25 pet rent added to your monthly payment.

Moving Into Your Apartment

Moving is always a pain, no matter how much stuff you have or where you’re coming from. So, we try to make move-in day an easy, organized experience for every new resident.

For example, if you want to move-in on the opening day of a new apartment building, we will likely assign you a designated time slot. Opening day is the most popular day to move for applicants that pre-leased an apartment in a new building, so it can be busy!

After applying for an apartment and receiving an approval email, you will just need to stay on top of your messages from us. We will tell you everything you need to know leading up to your move-in day.
